Fabric

  1. Cotton is most suitable.
  2. Satin for wedding - poly-cotton for underside in coordinating colour.
  3. Polyester for wedding or gift.

Fibre Filling

  1. Natural wool.
  2. Polyester filling - available at craft and sewing stores.

Lining (Veetoshka)

  1. Size - cut 3 inches larger all around.  This will be 6 inches wider around the perimeter of the blanket.
  2. Fabrics - use fine unbleached cotton.  It must be washed before quilting, therefore provide for shrinkage. (E.g. 13 yards for queen size).

Quilting Supplies

  1. Appropriate needles, thimbles
  2. Regular thread for sewing-white for lining, coloured to match outer fabric, embroidery cotton to match fabric when quilting.
  3. Pleating tape (the kind used for curtains) or denim fabric to attach quilt to table.
  4. Hammer, nails.
  5. Regular chalk or invisible pen for marking pattern.

Patterns are applied on top fabric
