CIS Paid Classes and Workshops

The ideas and the content for the CIS classes and workshops are generated by the membership.  The participants identify a new skill to be learned.  Because the CIS has many talented and skilled members and mentors, the majority of our instructors have been CIS members.  On occasion, non-members were invited to instruct a workshop.  Classes are open to everyone in the community. The CIS charges a fee for the class and the instructor is paid. Participants provide their own supplies and materials for the class. Some of the classes that were held at the USCC Interpretive and Training Centre were: traditional Doukhobor shawl embroidery, traditional Doukhobor quilting, sewing a jacket, learning to weave, creative piece quilting, sewing placemats, sewing with fleece. The CIS encourages creativity and invites ideas for learning and sharing.
